Waste Connections Acquires Seven, Reports Fiscal Results

Folsom, Calif. -- Waste Connections Inc. has completed or has nearly completed seven acquisitions during the fourth quarter of 2001 and the first quarter of 2002, with total annualized revenues of approximately $32 million. The acquisitions include a new G certificate collection operation in Washington, a franchise collection operation in Oregon, and a series of tuck-in acquisitions in Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Colorado.

The company also has reported 2001 fourth quarter revenue of $100.8 million, compared with revenue of $82.8 million for the same quarter last year. Operating income for 2001 was $26.2 million (excluding $1.7 million in charges), compared with operating income of $21.6 million for the same quarter in the previous year.
