Based on the first few days of WasteExpo, attendance and enthusiasm were high, and WasteExpo 2002 appears to be headed toward another successful year. Many of the conference sessions were standing-room only, according to Stephen Miner, manager of education for the Environmental Industry Associations (EIA), Washington, D.C.

Several other special events such as the Inspirational Breakfast produced record attendance, according to Rita Ugianskis, Primedia Expositions Group show director. Ugianskis also noted that exhibitor space sales for WasteExpo 2003 in New Orleans, to be held June 2-5, are brisk.

Waste Age magazine and the EIA are the official sponsors of WasteExpo. WasteExpo is the largest trade show in industry. Waste Age is the nation’s leading publication for solid waste managers.
