Wilmington, Mass., is announcing details of its public outreach effort for the new automated trash and recycling program. The program is to be implemented this summer for all households receiving residential trash and recycling collection from the town. The outreach effort will explain, demonstrate, and answer questions about how the new automated program will work.
The town is preparing to enter into contract with Russell Disposal Inc. to transition from standard collection of solid waste to automated collection. The automated program will be rolled out this summer. Through out the state, communities have found that automated programs have reduced collection and disposal costs and increased recycling rates.
