Recology’s Board has Appointed Two Additional Directors as Part of Efforts to Transform Company

SAN FRANCISCO - As part of its continuing efforts to enhance corporate governance and oversight of company operations, Recology’s Board of Directors has appointed two additional Directors, Kim Box and Jeff Stiefler, to help guide the company and its new leadership.
“It is my pleasure to welcome Kim and Jeff to the Recology Board,” said Recology Chair, Christa Steele. “They are seasoned leaders who bring strong operational know-how as well as valuable, long-time experience serving on public and private boards. The breadth and depth of their perspectives will enhance our Board’s ability to provide strategic oversight and guidance to Recology’s new leadership.”
Ms. Box brings a strong record of executive leadership and board experience, with particular expertise in the areas of information technology, strategic results-driven leadership, and corporate transformation. Currently, Ms. Box serves as an Independent Director on the Boards of American River Bank, McGrath Rentcorp, Applied Science, Inc. as well as Chair of the Board of the Northern California Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors. She is an experienced President and Chief Executive Officer, most recently leading Gatekeeper Innovation, Inc. Previously, she worked at HP for twenty-nine years in various leadership roles, including as Vice President of Global IT Services, a $1 billion global organization. She holds a BS from California State University, Chico, and completed the Executive Development Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Stiefler brings extensive operational and board experience to the Recology Board, with a long and distinguished career spanning financial technology, financial services, and business and consumer services companies. He previously served as Chair, President, and CEO of Digital Insight, President and Director of American Express, and President and CEO of American Express Financial Advisors (now Ameriprise). In those roles, he has worked in heavily regulated industries and provided guidance and oversight on sophisticated compliance programs. Mr. Stiefler currently serves as Lead Independent Director of FIS Global, the world’s leading provider of technology platforms to banks, merchants, and asset management firms and as Director of One Spa World, the world’s leading provider of spa management services to cruise ship lines. He has previously served on the Boards of Worldpay, Vantiv, Touch Commerce, Square Trade, LPL Financial, VeriFone, and Taleo. Mr. Stiefler holds a BA from Williams College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
