Greening Government ICT Report Shows Uptick in Central Governments E-Waste

The central government has put in the necessary work to minimize the amount of e-waste the ICT department sends to landfills; at one point achieving a level as low as 0.02 percent. The most recent Greening Government ICT report, published on November 14th, reported a figure higher than this with 1.6 percent of waste going to landfills. How did this number go from 0.3 to 1.6 in a matter of three years? The report claims the uptick in waste being sent to landfills can be attributed to a transition of the department to more cloud and mobile tech.
