A Nigerian company is using e-waste to create solar-powered lanterns. The company has a target of 70 percent or materials being derived from e-waste.

A Nigerian company called Quadloop collects e-waste and turns it into solar-powered lanterns. 70 percent of the materials used by the company are restored waste. The founder of the company says this came about as a means of cutting costs for the budding business. Utilizing this type of waste also allows these difficult-to-recycle materials to be removed from waste streams and reused.
