Franklin Township, N.J., Installs Methane Extraction System at Landfill

 A permanent methane extraction system has been installed in Pennsylvania Avenue landfill and is working the way it should, Franklin Township's engineer said.

"The system has been checked and approved by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection office as of Feb. 10," said township engineer Ted Wilkinson.

The system was installed in two phases in January. The first was when the wells and pipes were installed and then when the unit and power was installed.
