Fire at Little Rock Solid Waste Facility Damages Five Garbage Trucks Worth More Than $1.3M

A fire broke out at Little Rock Solid Waste Facility in Arkansas this past weekend, damaging five garbage trucks worth more than $1.3 million and ultimately causing Little Rock to delay waste collection services.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and the incident is currently under investigation.

Five garbage trucks worth more than a total of $1.3 million were rendered useless after a fire over the weekend at the Little Rock Solid Waste Facility. According to city officials, several of the city’s waste removal services will be on a delay due to the loss of equipment.

The fire at the city’s landfill was called into the Little Rock Fire Department at about 6:17 AM on Sunday. Officials with the Little Rock Solid Waste said they believe the fire started in one truck and subsequently spread to the four other trucks parked next to it.
