San Diego Garbage Truck Driver Dumps Burning Waste onto Church Parking Lot

A garbage truck driver in the Tierrasanta community of San Diego was forced to make a quick decision on Wednesday once he noticed garbage burning in his truck. To keep the fire from burning up the truck or spreading to other areas, the driver pulled into the parking lot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and dumped the waste.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department reported to the scene and put out the fire in about 30 minutes.

A trash truck driver dumped his load into the parking lot of a church in Tierrasanta Wednesday after he smelled smoke while making rounds at a nearby apartment complex.
According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD), the fire was reported around 4:35 p.m. on Villarrica Way and Antigua Boulevard in the parking lot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Bishop Jim Korican told NBC 7, the driver had been picking up trash at the apartment complex close to the church when he smelled the smoke. He drove into the church's parking lot and dumped the load.
