Tesla Unveiling Class-8 Truck in September
Few details have emerged on the project.
Tesla founder Elon Musk tweeted last week that Tesla would unveil a Semi truck in September. Few details have emerged on the project.
According to a Teslarati report, Musk had “previously spoken about a semi-truck that would be far better than anything on the road, and by reading into the statement one can presume that the next level he’s referring to is Level 4 or Level 5 autonomy.”

Musk also tweeted that the commercial truck will be followed by a pickup truck for the consumer market within 18-24 months.
In November, Wrightspeed and The Ratto Group unveiled The Route, the first commercial application of a range-extended electric refuse truck, at a press conference in Sonoma County, Calif.
Also in November, BYD, an electric vehicle manufacturer, and Wayne Engineering, a manufacturer of chassis-mounted rear and side loaders, launched a new fully electric refuse truck.
