Trillium CNG Opens CNG Station in York, Pa.

Trillium CNG, part of the Love’s Family of Companies, has designed a new compressed natural gas (CNG) station for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in York, Pa. The new facility was built as part of a private-public partnership (P-3) PennDot awarded to Trillium last year.

“CNG is clean transportation fuel. Not only will it help reduce our carbon footprint, but it will help reduce our maintenance costs as well as create jobs in Pennsylvania,” said rabbittransit Executive Director Richard Farr in a statement. “We couldn’t be more pleased to be a partner in this initiative in bringing public-private fueling stations to the Commonwealth.”

The P-3 project, which consists of 29 facilities, will provide CNG to more than 1,600 buses at state transit agencies, cleaner air to the community and more public CNG facilities to consumers.

“We are pleased to work with Trillium CNG on bringing a CNG fueling station under our P-3 arrangement to transit agencies across Pennsylvania, including here in York,” said PennDOT Deputy Secretary for Multimodal Transportation Toby Fauver in a statement. “This innovative program will help foster the use of this cleaner-burning fuel that will make a difference for air quality while helping transit agencies save money through lower fuel costs.”

The new station will be open to the public 24/7 and provide service to vehicles of all sizes, including light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks.

“We’ve been excited about this partnership since before entering into the design stage, and it’s great to see everything coming to fruition at these station openings,” said Trillium CNG Managing Director Bill Cashmareck in a press release. “Our goal is to help companies meet their sustainability needs at a competitive cost, and it’s great to know this partnership benefits so many transit authorities, as well as other consumers.”
