The waste equipment technology Association (WASTEC) and Waste Age magazine have launched their new online Waste Industry Marketplace. Available at www.wastec.org, www.wasteage.com and www.wasteindustrysite.com, this unique directory enables WASTEC's members and other solid waste and recycling professionals to locate the industry-specific products and services they need.

The Waste Industry Marketplace is a powerful search engine that continually indexes the Web sites of all companies represented in the directory. Visitors can easily locate products and services unique to the industry without the clutter of a general Internet search. Within the Waste Industry Marketplace, users have the option of searching by keywords or categories.

A downloadable application allows users to search for products and services using a small search window on their desktops, further streamlining data retrieval. The Waste Industry Marketplace also includes a Request for Information (RFI) tool, enabling users to contact a group of suppliers with one click of a button.

“WASTEC is continually looking for opportunities to create value for its members,” said Gary Satterfield, WASTEC's Executive Vice President. “When we were shown the network search engine provided by MultiView, we saw an opportunity to both enhance the WASTEC brand and provide great value to members. The Internet has become an important channel to generate sales for our industry. It's all about selling and the MultiView product brings state of the art technology to creating a one-stop marketplace for our members and industry suppliers. We look forward to making the Waste Industry Marketplace the source for all solid waste and recycling equipment needs.”

“Waste Age and its partner, WASTEC, have combined resources to give the industry its most complete and readily accessible online buyers guide,” said Gregg Herring, group publisher for the magazine. “The Waste Industry Marketplace combines our comprehensive print buyers' guide, which has been published for nearly 30 years, and WASTEC's formidable database of its members products. With a product-intensive business such as ours, we expect the Web site to be one of the busiest in the industry.”

WASTEC and Waste Age partnered with MultiView Inc., an Irving, Texas-based publisher of industry-specific search engines and supplier directories, to develop the Waste Industry Marketplace. “WASTEC and Waste Age magazine understand that this industry is high-paced and deadline-driven,” said Dan Maitland, president of MultiView. “Traditional search engine results are quickly becoming sub-par for such industries, and WASTEC knew that creating a time-saving tool for its members was essential. The Waste Industry Marketplace saves industry professionals an incredible amount of time as they seek products and services unique to the solid waste and recycling industry.”

MultiView Inc. is the leading publisher of online supplier directories (OLSD) for associations. Members can now easily find the goods and services they need using individually tailored OLSDs provided to them at absolutely no cost as a value added benefit of their on-going association memberships.

WASTEC is a trade association for the solid waste and recycling equipment industry, part of the $45 billion solid waste industry in the United States. WASTEC members include equipment manufacturers, distributors, consultants and service providers. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the Association focuses on four key program divisions that affect the solid waste and recycling industry collectively: technical programs, executive programs, market enhancement programs, and information and education.
