Feeding San Diego has launched a campaign aimed at raising funds to educate the city's residents about food diversion.
The organization states that since March 2020, nearly 70% of the food it distributed was originally destined for landfills. The Feed People, Not Landfills campaign will allow the organization to continue its mission to rescue food from over 600 locations in San Diego County.
In 2020, Feeding Sand Diego diverted more than 27.6 million pounds of food.
