Daniel Schoeler, a former Walmart employee, speaks out about the retailer’s “disturbing” food waste. According to Schoeler, a large number of perfectly good foods were being tossed in the trash, despite Walmart’s claim that it only discards inedible foods. Some of the food items being improperly discarded were margarine, yogurt, sour cream, bags of apples and potatoes, watermelons, cottage cheese, baked goods and non-expired canned food.

CBC Marketplace launched a national investigation of these claims, and its investigation will air on Friday, October, 28, 2016.
