In 2017 IKEA announced a new target to eliminate half of its restaurant's food waste worldwide. Using artificial intelligence to better calculate how much food needs to be cooked at each location, the company was able to achieve this goal. In just five years, IKEA has managed to decrease its food waste by 54 percent. The amount of food saved is equal to 20 million meals.
