Sacramento Pushes Rate Fee Hike in Advance of Compost Law

As cities around the state of California prepare for SB1383 to take effect, Sacramento has implemented a rate fee hike to accommodate the change in waste collection.

Although food waste will not be collect until July 2022, officials have approved a $3.83 per month rate adjustment to begin in April. The fee will increase every year until 2024, when it tops out at $11.49 per month.
