Allied Waste announces general counsel hiring

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Allied Waste announced the hiring of Timothy R. Donovan as the executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Donovan replaces Steven M. Helm who retired from the company in August 2006.

“Tim brings a great combination of outstanding legal expertise and broad business skills,” said John J. Zilmer, chairman and CEO of Allied in a press release.

Donovan is the chairman of the audit committee and member of the compensation committee for John B. Sanfilippo & Son Inc.
