Lombard, Ill.-based Veolia Environmental Services (ES) Technical Solutions has presented Kevin Polkinghorn its Account Manager of the Year-National Top Performer Award. Polkinghorn has been with Veolia's Menomonee Falls, Wis., office for five years.
Tom Rawson, CEO of Houston-based RKI Inc., will be become president of the Farmington Hills, Mich.-based National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) at NTEA's March 8 annual meeting.
The Waste Equipment Technology Association's Board of Governors has elected Robert Mecchi of Perkins Manufacturing Co. to fill a vacancy on the board.
Mecchi will serve as an interim fill for the vacancy through the end of this year.
Mecchi previously served as an alternate to the board, which elected Melissa Gauger from International Truck & Engine Corp. to fill the vacated alternate position.
Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Allied Waste has appointed William J. Flynn and John M. Trani to its Board of Directors. Flynn is president and CEO of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings in Purchase, N.Y., and Trani is chairman of Accretive Commerce in Huntsville, N.C.
Emerald Waste Services LLC has purchased Gulf Shores, Ala.-based Sunbelt Environmental Inc. Sunbelt focuses on the collection, recycling and disposal of commercial and C&D waste.
