  • Wayne Industrial Holdings LLC (WIH) has acquired the assets of Wayne Engineering Corp., a manufacturer of automated side-loaders and small- and mid-sized refuse trucks.

    Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

    Wayne Engineering's operations will remain in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where the company has a 71,000-square-foot facility.

    Kevin Watje will head WIH, which is an affiliate of T5 Equity Partners LLC. T5 is the private equity arm of Triple Five Corp.

  • Odyssey Investment Partners LLC has entered into an agreement to acquire Cleveland-based Wastequip Inc., a manufacturer of more than 200 products used to collect, process and transport solid waste, from DLJ Merchant Banking Partners. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

    Wastequip's senior management team will continue to lead the company under Odyssey's ownership. Completion of the deal is expected in first-quarter 2007.

  • Elgin, Ill.-based Impact Plastics, a manufacturer of waste container lids, has acquired Green Bay, Wis.-based Globe Casters Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Carl Brill, the previous owner of Globe Casters, will remain with the firm as national sales manager.

  • Pinellas County, Fla., has awarded Veolia ES Waste-to-Energy Inc., Lombard, Ill., a 17-year contract worth an estimated $615 million to operate the county's waste-to-energy facility.
