The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), Silver Spring, Md., announced that attendance at WASTECON 2005’s training and technical sessions increased by 4 percent from the previous year. According to a press release issued by the organization, more than 1,000 solid waste professionals attended the sessions, an increase from the turnout during WASTECON 2004 in Phoenix, Ariz.

Although there was a total of 3,100 attendees at the show, SWANA says that the overall attendance had decreased from the previous year because of hurricane response in Texas and the Gulf Coast.
