  • The Environmental Industry Associations (EIA), Washington, D.C., was selected as one of the first 100 models for the Center for Association Leadership's Innovation & Excellence Project, a program of the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives. The award was given for the EIA's reorganization several years ago.

  • The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), Silver Spring, Md., has received the Gold Circle Award for best single issue lobbying campaign from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for its efforts to include landfill gas tax incentives in several Congressional bills.

  • The National Recycling Coalition (NRC), Alexandria, Va., will give its Recycling Works Recognition Award to McDonald's Corp., Oak Brook, Ill.; Aveda, Minneapolis; and Collins & Aikman Floorcoverings Inc., Troy, Mich., for their waste prevention and recycling initiatives throughout the years.
