BFI Canada Completes Purchase of IESI

Toronto — BFI Canada Inc., Toronto, has completed its $1.1 billion (Canadian) purchase of Ft. Worth, Texas-based IESI Corp. The transaction was announced on Nov. 29, 2004, and was subject to regulatory and unitholder approvals, which have now been received.

Keith Carrigan will remain as president and CEO of BFI Canada. Mickey Flood will keep his titles as president and CEO of IESI, and also will become executive vice president of BFI Canada.
