Lombard, Ill.-based Veolia Environmental Services North America Corp. (VESNA) has appointed Richard Burke to be the new president and COO of the firm's Milwaukee-based solid waste division. Burke assumed the role on Jan. 1. He replaces Paul Jenks, who retired as president and CEO of Veolia ES Solid Waste Inc. at the end of last year. Burke previously served as vice president of the Eastern Region for Veolia ES Solid Waste.

“While we will miss Paul Jenks' leadership and guidance, we are fortunate to have a key individual to promote from within the organization,” said Michel Gourvennec, CEO of VESNA, in a statement. “Richard Burke brings a wealth of industry experience and strategic insight to his new role as president and COO. These traits will serve us well as he takes an active approach in driving the growth of our company across North America.”
