Commerce Department Names Two EIA Officials to Trade Committee

Two waste and recycling industry officials have been appointed by the U.S. Commerce Department to the U.S. Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee.

The Washington-based Commerce Department said in a news release it named Ron McCracken, principal of RJM Associates and a trustee of Environmental Industry Associations (EIA), and Janice Bradley, EIA executive vice president of EIA’s Waste Equipment Technology Association (WASTEC) to join the committee, which advises the government on expanding U.S. exports of environmental technologies, goods and services.

The appointments of McCracken and Bradley are effective through September 24, 2014.

McCracken said that it is a great opportunity for WASTEC companies to advance the export of solid waste and recycling technologies, goods and services. “The solid waste and recycling industry has revolutionized the management of waste and recyclables in the United States through the use of innovative technologies,” he said. “We are helping the Department of Commerce identify these technologies for export assistance.”

Said Bradley, “EIA’s mission is to promote the North American waste and recycling industries, serve as their voice and create a climate where members prosper and provide safe, economically sustainable and environmentally sound services. This includes being part of the national export initiates for our industry where appropriate. Our appointments to this advisory committee facilitate this mission.”
