The Washington-based Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) has begun working on a new training video about transfer stations through a partnership with the Environmental Research and Education Foundation (EREF), Alexandria, Va. EREF is sponsoring the video through its recently awarded Susan Harwood Training Grant, which was given by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Under the partnership, the EIA will produce a training video during the next six months that will teach solid waste employees how to reduce fatalities and serious injuries at transfer stations, with an emphasis on supervisors. The association will show the video and distribute educational materials at WasteExpo 2006 in Las Vegas.
