EU Lawmakers to Create Tougher Restrictions on PVC Use

Strasbourg, France — Calling polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic products a potential health risk, the European Union (EU) Assembly has voted to require the EU's head office to draw up strict PVC restrictions. Parliamentarians said that plastics industry efforts to impose regulations on PVC recycling and to encourage PVC landfill diversion are insufficient.
