Hartford, Conn.-based Oakleaf Waste Management, a waste brokerage firm, has formed an alliance with Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada-based 1-800-GOT JUNK. Under the terms of the partnership, Oakleaf, which uses a network of 3,500 independent haulers to provide waste removal services for 250 national clients, will refer business to 1-800-GOT-JUNK, which has 148 franchises that remove items such as washing machines and remodeling material from homes and commercial properties. In the exchange, Oakleaf will receive a 5 percent referral fee. Oakleaf also will market 1-800-GOT JUNK franchise opportunities to its hauler network.
