The fourth of July celebrations in New Hampshire drew many people to Hampton Beach.

With the combination of festive activities and a severe uptick in people visiting the area, a large amount of trash was left on the beach. Improper disposal of waste is often an issue in tourist locations such as this, however, the holiday creates conditions for an especially shocking amount of trash left on the shore. Ellen Goethel, marine educator, explores the litter covered beach on July 5th to report her findings and opinions.
