College Park, Md. -- Raymond Communications Inc. has published "Recycling & Solid Waste in Latin America, 2002 Update," which notes that several Latin American countries have moved to ban imports of hazardous wastes under the Basel Ban Amendments, and more than six are actively involved in new recycling policies that could impact exports of packaged goods.

According to the report, which was written by consultant Keith Ripley and discusses the region's current involvement in solid waste and recycling programs, there is a general push in the region to create producer responsibility laws and laws providing incentives for materials recycling, recycled content in products and green purchasing.
