Solid Waste Services

FOREMAN I

The City of Lufkin currently has a position vacancy in Solid Waste Services for a Foreman.

This Foreman’s primary area of responsibility will be to supervise and coordinate the activities of the recyclables processing facility including City employees as well as an inmate labor force. Should possess a good understanding of recyclable materials markets and negotiation skills with vendors.

This individual will be an integral member of departmental staff, therefore must possess and project a ‘team’ attitude. Superior customer satisfaction must be this individual’s top priority.

The individual selected for this position should be familiar with standard computer applications and be capable of data input and analysis. Candidates will be capable of conducting waste screening and determining generation rates. Assesses current processes and proposes necessary adjustments.

Familiar with the operation and maintenance of related equipment with the ability to supervise, train and direct subordinates in the proper use and maintenance of said equipment and procedures.

Previous Solid Waste/Recycling experience a plus.

Individual with Composting background is highly desirable.

Valid Texas driver's license required at time of placement or obtainable within 90 days of placement. High School Diploma/GED required. This is a full time position with full benefits.
