Bausch + Lomb Corporation, a leading global eye health company dedicated to helping people see better to live better, announced its ONE by ONE and Biotrue Eye Care Recycling programs have collected 84,343,540 units, or 510,116 pounds, of used contact lenses, eye care and lens care materials in the U.S., which is greater than the weight of the Statue of Liberty.

Northstar Clean Technologies Inc., a Canadian clean technology company focused on the sustainable recovery and reprocessing of asphalt shingles, and Ecco Recycling & Energy Corporation, a Calgary-based waste diversion provider, are pleased to announce that Ecco Recycling and Northstar, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Empower Environmental Solutions Calgary Ltd. have signed a binding three-year asphalt shingle supply agreement for Northstar's planned asphalt shingle reprocessing facility in Calgary, Alberta.

Ecco Recycling will supply asphalt shingles from its current construction & demolition ("C&D") landfill in Calgary to Northstar's Empower Calgary Facility. The shingles will be reprocessed at Northstar's Empower Calgary Facility for an initial term of three years with mutual extension options.

Spectro Alloys, the Midwest's leading aluminum recycler, recently completed a solar installation through All Energy Solar, Inc. to power its new 70,000-square-foot distribution center in Rosemount. Spectro makes old things new by taking aluminum scrap, mainly from cars and appliances, and recycling it for a new useful life. The recycled metal then finds new uses across the country.

Warehouse workers at Stericycle have voted unanimously to join Teamsters Local 251. These workers join Teamsters drivers at the same facility who ratified their first collective bargaining agreement in March 2022. Warehouse workers at Stericycle's Woonsocket facility process and dispose of hazardous medical waste.

Teamsters Local 251 represents over 6,300 workers in a wide variety of industries throughout Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.

In partnership with TerraCycle, Taco Bell's Sauce Container US Recycling Program has recently expanded to accept not only any Brand of used sauce packets, but also any 2 oz souffle cups/lids (the vessel of beloved nacho cheese sauce), sauce dipping cups, and coffee creamer pods. After fans savor every last drop of cheesy nacho goodness, they can mail in accepted USED, empty packaging throughout the month of May to earn 80 bonus Taco Bell Rewards points***. With hundreds of thousands of used sauce packets already recycled, the program's expansion aims to further divert single-use plastic from landfills.

TIPA, a global leader in compostable flexible packaging solutions, announced the appointment of John Wilson as Commercial Director for North America. He is the latest executive to join the company's growing North American presence and will head TIPA’s business expansion as demand for more sustainable and eco-friendly packaging solutions continues to grow.

Wilson joins TIPA with a career spanning more than 20 years in consumer packaging, most recently with leadership positions in Amcor’s flexible packaging business. His experience encompasses sustainability, supply chain management, procurement, and marketing.
