  • Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based Republic Services Inc. has named Mike Cordesman chief operating officer (COO). Cordesman also is vice president of the company's Eastern region.

  • The National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR), Charlotte, N.C., has announced that Frank Mechura, executive vice president of Crown, Cork & Seal Co. Inc., Philadelphia, will serve as chairman of the board of directors for 2002. Mike Dewsbury, vice president of Wellman Inc., Charlotte, will serve as vice chairman, Dominique Potelle will service as treasurer, and Ralph Simmons will serve as secretary and general counsel.

  • Haley & Aldrich, Boston, has promoted David A. Schoenwolf to principal and senior vice president, Daniel J. Dobbels to senior associate and vice president, and Robert A. Mullin to associate and vice president.

  • Autocar LLC, Union City, Ind., has named Gene Parker director of national accounts, Brad Moore Southeast regional sales manager, Jeff Allen Southwest regional sales manager and Gary Foster North Central regional sales manager. Stan Dolesh also has been named aftermarket integration manager for Autocar and will lead the company's transition of the Xpeditor parts support system from Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA) Inc., Greensboro, N.C., to Autocar.

  • Patrick Pfeifer has been appointed senior vice president of sales and marketing for Environmental Support Solutions (ESS), Tempe, Ariz.

  • Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Eaton Corp. has named Tim Morscheck vice president and chief technology officer for the trucking business unit, Josette Russell marketing and business development manager, Chris Shemas NAFTA sales manager and Steve Melvin service product development manager.

  • John Beckmann has been named vice president of national accounts for the sand, gravel and aggregates, and civil engineering segments of the construction industry for Volvo Construction Equipment North America Inc., Asheville, N.C., and George Fink has been named vice president of national accounts for the recycling, waste and general construction segments of the industry.

  • Becker Underwood Inc., Ames, Iowa, has appointed David Roller to coloring systems coordinator.

  • Kyle Whiteis has been named product manager for Auto Crane, Tulsa, Okla.

  • Boise, Idaho-based American Ecology Corp.'s board of directors has named Stephen Romano CEO. He was named president and chief operating officer in October 2001 and will retain these titles.

  • James L. Lanzon has been named director of engineering for Indianapolis-based Allison Transmission's division of general motors.

  • The Harris Waste Management Group Inc., Peachtree City, Ga., has named Mike Lee general manager for its Baxley, Ga., manufacturing facility.

  • Bob Duncan, founder and former owner of J.C. Duncan Cos., and chairman and CEO of Duncan Holdings, Arlington, Va., has died. He was 76.
