  • The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), Silver Spring, Md., has appointed Lori Scozzafava to the new position of deputy executive director. She previously served as director of technical programs.

  • Gina Naylor has been named southwest marketing manager for Galbreath, Winamac, Ind. Chris Phillip will now manage the north central region, Don Clouser will serve the upper Midwest region, and Doug Malchow will serve the lower Midwest region that now includes part of Illinois, Missouri and Kansas.

  • Hallco Manufacturing has appointed Randy Workentin as Regional Sales Manager of Western Canada, Washington, Idaho and Montana.

  • Autocar Trucks, Hagerstown, Ind., has hired Doug Groff as director of service, Jim Grubaugh as national service manager and Alton Sanders as dealer warranty manager.

  • Federal Signal Environmental Products Group, Elgin, Ill., has named Bill Krupowicz vice president and general manager of refuse. Krupowicz will be responsible for the Leach refuse body business.

Stephen Ursery is the editor of Waste Age magazine. During his time as editor, Waste Age has won more than 20 national and regional awards. He has worked for Penton Media since August 1999. Before joining Waste Age as the magazine's managing editor, he was an associate editor for American City & County and for National Real Estate Investor.

Prior to joining Penton, Stephen worked as a reporter for The Marietta Daily Journal and The Fulton County Daily Report, both of which are located in metro Atlanta.

Stephen earned a BA in History from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.
