Agru America Inc., Kingwood, Texas, manufactures high-density polyethylene (HDPE) Microspike liners using a process that creates a rough surface out of the actual liner material. The resulting profile has a regular series of small spikes integrated with the base liner material for landfill lining and capping. The Microspike, also available in low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), has smooth edges to enable wedge welds to be made between adjacent sheets, according to the company. Liners are produced with no need for co-extrusion or spray-on processes, the company says. Features include standard 29-inch-diameter rolls with two slings each, special roll lengths available upon request, and a 40-foot standard container and 48-foot flatbed each with a 12-roll capacity.

The mat is made from multiple water-permeable, active layers containing at least one reactive agent to stabilize specific contaminants within hazardous waste. Several reactive agents can be mixed into one active layer or may be separated into different active layers, according to the company.
