Alterna Equity Partners Acquires Bulk Express Transport

A South Florida-based private equity firm has finalized the purchase of Bulk Express.

Alterna Equity Partners has acquired the Miami-based company's portfolio including Bulk Express Transport, Soil Tech Distributors, M3 Transport and Inter City Disposal.

Waste Industry Works to Drive Down Injury and Illness Rates: Part 1

The waste and recycling industry has been working in conjunction with the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) to bring down injury and illness rates. Attendees at Wastecon in San Diego heard from speakers at major industry associations including NWRA, SWANA and ISRI about industry efforts during the event's Safety Summit sessions.

WM and Dow Roll out Film Curbside Recycling

WM (formerly Waste Management) and Dow are running a curbside film and flexible plastics pilot in Hickory Hills, Ill., with plans to expand to other cities. If proven out at this trial site, the program is expected to divert more than 120,000 metric tons of plastic film and flexibles from landfills annually by 2025.

LRS Reaches Double-Digit Acquisitions, Expands Services in Northern Illinois, Arkansas

Rosemont, Ill.-based LRS has completed its 11th and 12th acquisitions of 2022.

The purchases of Molenhouse Enterprises and Bulldog Disposal expand the company's high-growth service areas in Illinois and Arkansas.
