Announcements

  • The Solid Waste Association of North America, Silver Spring, Md., has announced that Bruce Jenner, a 1976 Olympics gold medalist, will be a featured speaker at its WASTECON conference on Sept. 28 in Austin, Texas.

  • McNeilus, Dodge Center, Minn., has announced sales contracts with Raleigh, N.C., which has purchased 25 AutoReach automated side loaders, and San Antonio, Texas, which has ordered 13 Streetforce manual side loaders.



New Offices

  • Navistar Financial Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Warrenville, Ill.-based International Truck and Engine Corp., has moved its headquarters to Schaumburg, Ill.

  • Federal Signal Environmental Products Group (EPG), Oshkosh, Wis., has announced that its service and support subsidiary, FS Depot, has moved its location to 8901 S. 102nd St, Pleasant Prairie, Wis. In other company news, the Leach Co., an EPG company, is selling its Oshkosh, Wis., manufacturing facility and relocating its administration office to 54 Park Place, Appleton, Wis.

  • Atlanta-based Golder Associates has opened an office in Columbus, Ohio. The office's phone number is (614) 899-9288.



Corrections

  • A formula contained in a sidebar on p. 115 of Waste Age's April 2005 issue incorrectly listed the letter to which the value of 8 hours should be assigned. The letter is T. Waste Age regrets the error.

  • “Thinking Outside the Can,” (Waste Age April 2005, p. 94), incorrectly listed the manufacturer of the loaders that Orlando. Fla., uses to collect bulk waste. The manufacturer is Lake Wales, Fla.-based Petersen Industries. Waste Age regrets the error.

Stephen Ursery is the editor of Waste Age magazine. During his time as editor, Waste Age has won more than 20 national and regional awards. He has worked for Penton Media since August 1999. Before joining Waste Age as the magazine's managing editor, he was an associate editor for American City & County and for National Real Estate Investor.

Prior to joining Penton, Stephen worked as a reporter for The Marietta Daily Journal and The Fulton County Daily Report, both of which are located in metro Atlanta.
