Veolia Solid Waste Names New CFO

Milwaukee-based Veolia ES Solid Waste, the solid waste division of Veolia Environmental Services North America Corp. (VESNA), has named Ray Bruckert vice president and CFO. The appointment was effective April 1, 2009.

Bruckert also serves as vice president and treasurer of VESNA, and coordinates the tax function for Veolia Environnement North America Operations, Inc. (VENAO), VESNA’s parent company.

“Ray Bruckert has been a great asset and resource to our company for many years,” said Richard Burke, president and CEO of Veolia ES Solid Waste, in a press release. “He has steered the company through countless acquisitions, demonstrating an innate competency in and knowledge of detailed financial issues. His leadership skills will serve him well in this new role.”

“I am excited to have the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained from my various roles with the company to further the continued success and growth of the solid waste division,” Bruckert said in a statement.

Bruckert joined the company in 1996. Over the next four years, he assisted in business acquisitions, initially as a financial and tax consultant, and ultimately as market developer. In 2000, he was named vice president and treasurer. Prior to joining Veolia, he was with Ernst and Young for 10 years. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville with a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting and finance.
