Volvo Acquires Skid Steer Loader Business

Stockholm, Sweden -- Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has signed an agreement to acquire the assets of Scat Trak, the skid steer loader business unit of Textron subsidiary OmniQuip. Assets include five skid steer loader models ranging from 1,350 pounds to 2,450 pounds, tooling and inventory. Although manufacturing facilities are not part of the agreement, products eventually will be assembled at Volvo CE's Asheville, N.C., plant.
