I am very pleased with our new partnerships with the Solid Waste Association of North America and Yale University's faculty. Both organizations' contributions to WasteExpo are very much appreciated, and I sincerely believe that WasteExpo is a better event because of their efforts. Thank you.
On the pages that follow, you will see the results of a year-long effort that began even before WasteExpo 2000 in Atlanta officially concluded. The Atlanta show ended with a tremendous amount of buzz and optimism for the future. We saw the first increase in attendance in at least five years.
Additionally, people are entering the industry again, and we are pleased to welcome them to WasteExpo. WasteExpo 2001 sales and registration numbers to date are surpassing expectations and historical data. Consequently, these are very exciting times for the show and the industry at large!
WasteExpo 2001 was planned with you in mind. We are focused on two goals:
