MILTON, FL – “Driving is my passion. A career with Waste Pro allows me to do what I love every day.”
Jennifer started her driving career as a school bus driver. As times changed due to the global pandemic in 2020, she began looking for the next step in her career. A friend recommended applying for a driving position at Waste Pro’s Milton Division three years ago, and the rest is history.
Jennifer’s day begins early with a safety/team meeting followed by a daily pre-trip truck inspection before she heads out to begin collections on her route. Jennifer enjoys the early routine, the focus on safety, and the encouragement she receives when offering outstanding service to her customers throughout the community.
“I am proud to show up and prove that women can do this job as effectively as our male counterparts. It’s inspiring to be part of the statistic helping to balance the male/female ratio in a historically male-dominated industry.”
Jennifer plays a big role in helping to organize various community events such as Divisional cookouts, educational outreach activities at local schools, and Touch-a- Truck days in the Milton community. “I love where I live and feel fortunate Waste Pro encourages local employees to be actively part of the communities they serve.”
Recently, Jennifer was recognized for her safety record by earning the Waste Pro Driver Safety Award. To earn the coveted Safety Award, an employee must meet safety-specific criteria over a three-year period. Employees who receive the award also exemplify the Waste Pro Way--a commitment to caring that drives company culture and Waste Pro's interactions with its customers. Eligible drivers receive $10,000, and a similar award of $5,000 is offered to eligible helpers. Since the program’s inception in 2004, more than 500 drivers and helpers have earned the award – many earning it multiple times. Waste Pro has awarded approximately $7.5 million to safety- and service-minded drivers and helpers.
While at Waste Pro, Jennifer met and fell in love with another driver. They are now married, and their combined family includes three children and three grandchildren. When she is not on the road, she loves cooking, gardening, crafting of all sorts, and spending time with her family.
“I truly enjoy being part of the Waste Pro Milton team and hope to continue to work on my confidence to move into a more supervisory role, taking on more responsibilities and growing with the company for many years to come.”
