Bert Adams Disposal has bought the Broome County, N.Y., hauling operation of Houston-based Waste Management Inc., for an undisclosed amount.

The waste and junk hauler, based in Chenango Bridge, N.Y., picked up about 500 commercial waste stops and some residential stops with the deal, the company confirmed by phone.

Bert Adams retained all eight hauling employees at its Chenango Bridge location, because Waste Management is closing its Binghamton, N.Y., facility.

“It just gives us a great opportunity to grow in the area,” said Bert Adams, owner and president.
