Clean Earth Acquires MKC Enterprises, Acquest International Serves as Advisor
The acquisition will open up new markets for Clean Earth.
Clean Earth, Inc., a Hatboro, Penn.-based provider of tailored waste disposal systems and programs, has successfully acquired MKC Enterprises, Inc., a Doraville, Ga.-based waste services company. Acquest International, L.P., a New York-based M&A firm, served as exclusive financial advisor to Clean Earth throughout the acquisition.
"Since 1984, MKC has been a leader in providing hazardous and non-hazardous waste management services,” said Chris Dods, CEO of Clean Earth, in a statement. “Our combined geographic footprint will open new markets for Clean Earth, expand our customer base and enhance our growth prospects. In addition, MKC’s regulatory permits and extensive processing capabilities will enable us to grow our capacity to process medical waste and additional forms of non-hazardous waste."
MKC’s company-owned, fully permitted hazardous waste RCRA Part B facility will serve as a regional hub going forward for Clean Earth’s customized hazardous and non-hazardous waste management programs for the high-end technical market, including university research and development labs, industrial companies and medical facilities.
“Acquest served as the advisor to AES Environmental when it was acquired by Clean Earth in 2014, in addition to advising Clean Earth on its acquisition of EWS Alabama of Glencoe, Ala., in 2016,” said Pauli Overdorff, managing director of Acquest, in a statement. “These transactions underscore Acquest’s versatility advising both sellers and buyers in the environmental services industry.”
