ReCommunity Buys Recycler Hudson Baylor
ReCommunity Recycling has bought recycler Hudson Baylor Corp. for an undisclosed amount.
The Newburgh, N.Y.-based Hudson Baylor operates 12 recycling facilities in the Northeast and Southwest, with two additional plants opening this year. Hudson Baylor employs 300, the Charlotte, N.C.-based ReCommunity said in a news release.
The acquisition expands ReCommunity into the western United States with Arizona material recovery facilities (MRFs) in Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tucson. Hudson Baylor’s glass bottle recycling facility also complements ReCommunity’s operations, the company said.
“We are grateful and pleased to welcome Hudson Baylor, a market leader that shares our community-centric vision for next-generation resource recovery, to the ReCommunity family,” said ReCommunity CEO Jim Bohlig.
Hudson Baylor has been in the recycling business for 28 years. “I believe the merged company will continue to provide the recycling industry with the best service for its clients through the strong commitment of its loyal employees,” said Scott Tenney, president and owner of Hudson Baylor.
With the purchase ReCommunity will operate 36 facilities in 12 states and employ 1,150.
