Waste Management Inc. has purchased Oak Grove Disposal Co. for an undisclosed amount.

The Houston-based Waste Management acquired the Clackamass, Ore.-based Oak Grove’s recycling and waste collection assets, which include commercial, residential and roll-off business, says Jackie Lang, spokeswoman for the company. The deal was completed Aug. 1.

Oak Grove serves the Oregon city of Milwaukie and Clackamass County. Lang says Oak Grove has 7,000 residential customers and 275 commercial customers.

Lang says the transition is going smoothly. “Over time we look to enhance services in ways that may boost recycling and achieve greater sustainability.”

The drivers for Oak Grove are being relocated to Waste Management’s Portland facility.
