Watch company, Ulysse Nardin, has always had a strong connection with the ocean. Most recently the company created a research unit dedicated to studying sustainable innovation for watchmaking projects.
In October, they introduced the “R-Strap” made from recycled fishing nets, one of the primary sources of ocean plastic pollution. They are also introducing Diver Net, a concept watch that has been designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The case, middle, back and bezel decorations are made from polyamide pellets. In addition, the transparent ceramic glass used requires less energy to produce.
