Virginia Governor Rolls Back Plastics Phase-out, Seeking to Court Recycling

Governor of Virginia Glenn Youngkin has placed an executive order on a number of environmentally-based policies, specifically centered around decreasing the food waste that goes to landfills and a boost in the states recycling.

The order was faced with great critique after reviewers noticed the approach it takes to boosting recycling.

Order 17 plans to cancel initiatives set by prior govorner to eliminate single-use plastics by 2025, and replaces them with the promotion of recycling plastics at state agencies, parks, colleges and universities. Critics have several opinions regarding the new order.
