Agromin recycled more than 366,800 tons of yard waste from Southern California communities last year. That amount is a 21 percent increase from 2008, when the firm, which composts yard waste to produce soil products, recycled 302,139 tons of yard waste.

“Our sustainable system keeps waste out of landfills and reduces greenhouse gas emissions,” said Bill Camarillo, CEO of Agromin, in a press release. “The increased amount of green materials collected in 2009 is a positive indication that more and more residents and businesses are joining in the effort.”
