Chandler, Ariz., Considers Plastic Bins

Chandler, Ariz. — The city of Chandler, Ariz., is considering ending its use of metal trash containers in public alleyways, according to The Arizona Republic. The reason: replacement metal containers simply cost too much, the paper says. Assistant Municipal Utilities Director Karen Barfoot told the paper that replacing the metal containers with plastic ones could save the city roughly $3.5 million over the next decade.
