Covanta Wins WTE Award

Covanta Energy, Fairfield, N.J., has received the 2008 Industry Award from the Waste-to-Energy Research and Technology Council for its technology to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions from its waste-to-energy facilities.

"At Covanta, we are dedicated to investing in research and development that enables us to provide clean, renewable energy,” said Paul Gilman, chief sustainability officer for Covanta, in a press release. “We are proud to be recognized by our peers for this achievement. We are particularly pleased to receive this award as it is recognizes our commitment to continuous improvement and environmental excellence.”
