Washington, D.C. -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Washington, D.C., has added two final sites and 14 proposed sites to the Superfund National Priorities List (NPL). The EPA selected the White Swan Cleaners/Sun Cleaners Area Ground Water Plume site, Wall Township, N.J., and the Ravenswood PCE Ground Water Plume site, Ravenswood, W.Va., as final sites, but it withdrew its proposal to list the East Multnomah County Ground Water Contamination site, Multnomah County, Ore., on the NPL. Factors for selecting the final and proposed sites include risk to human health and the environment; the need for urgent response; maintenance of a strong enforcement program; and leverage of other cleanups, according to an EPA press release. For more details on all of the sites, visit http://www.epa.gov/superfund/sites/npl/current.htm.
